PARISH
COUNCIL - CAR PARK REMARKING
The Village Car Parking bays are due to be remarked on the 3rd
and 4th March 2003. Parts of the car park will obviously be roped off while
this is done. Please do not park in areas while they are being done and please
move any vehicles parked overnight by 8am in the morning. We know this will be
inconvenient but it will only be for a couple of days. Thank you for your co-operation.

Our Short Mat Bowls Club had to fight all the way to win the
West Kent League Four’s Competition against some strong opposition at Five
Oak Green on February 16. The team of Pat Goodall, John Bassett, Peter Cannon
and Doug Dickerson managed to win by one shot despite Pembury, the runners-up,
coming through with a late flourish. While some members like to play in competitions,
the majority prefer to play just for pleasure, so if you would like to get some
exercise among very friendly ladies and gentlemen, why not go along. If you don’t
own a set of bowls the club do have some available for use and play on Sunday
and Thursday afternoons, and Wednesday and Friday evenings. For details of sessions,
and membership, please call Alan Marsh on 01732 453964 or visit www.otford.info/shortmatbowls.

The answer to the Otford Parish Council survey of village opinion
to the proposed traffic calming proposal was No,
and this has been passed on to Sevenoaks District Council. The vote against the
proposal was enormous although only around a third of eligible villagers voted.
The general opinion is that some form of traffic calming would be desirable and
the parish council will be in discussion with both SDC and KCC in an effort to
produce a scheme that has general approval. |
