Otford Society Newsletter, which is distributed to all
members three times a year, endeavours to record nostalgic memories of our village,
or accounts of interesting events that have involved residents. The Editor, Ken
Gunderson (01959 522709), would like to hear from you if you have a story to
tell. Earlier ‘scoops’ include an eyewitness account of the 1944
doddlebug by the Darent, and Arthur Turner’s story of being shot down by
a U-boat over the Bay of Biscay. At the present time he is looking for items
connected with Christmas for the December edition, and for any memories of VE
Day 1945. May 2005 will see the 60th anniversary of that event so set your story
down before it’s too late. |
