This charity group provides transport for local people to attend clinics and other appointments, mainly in the Sevenoaks area, for those having no other way of reaching their appointments. Macmillan will also benefit from the tree of light on the village green. Donations in memory of a loved one can be made with labels for your message available from the Parish Council Office. The Tree of Light Service is at 7.30pm Friday 8th at the tree, followed at 8.00pm by traditional united churches carols around the Christmas tree on the green, followed by seasonal refreshment in the vicarage.

Otford Scout Group would like to thank everyone for the huge support at this year's bonfire, their best ever, raising £1550 for the continued refurbishment of the scout hut. Many apologies to those who unfortunately did not get food due to an unexpectedly high demand for tickets on the night. They look forward to seeing you all again next year. The scout group in Otford is growing. By popular demand, in the New Year, they intend forming two new groups of Beavers (6-8yrs) and Cubs (8-11yrs). Gordon Darby will be giving a talk to Otford and District Wine Club at their meeting on 29th November at 8.00 in the Memorial Hall entitled ‘A Vegetable Gardener’s Year’. Gordon has an allotment in Otford and everyone who has tasted his delicious organic vegetables is eager to hear how he does it. He has prepared three print-outs on vegetable growing which will be distributed after his talk and the meeting is free to members but guests will be charged a small free. Cheese and biscuits provided but take your own liquid refreshments.

The November edition of the Parish Magazine is now on-line. Sunday 12th November is Remembrance Sunday, with the service on The Green including the sounding of the Last Post, denoting the end of a day’s labour, and of The Reveille, the call to signify the dawn of another day. We hope you will join us for worship on Remembrance Sunday. Thanks to everyone after the 'Harvest' services during October and read an update on 'Building On' as work progresses. Do join us for a Christmas Market in the Church Hall on Saturday 11th November, 10am to 12 noon and later Bag Beetle – a Beetle Drive with a difference.
