The Otford and District Wine Club will be presenting a Cockney Evening at the Memorial Hall on Wednesday 24th November, commencing at 8.00pm. Entertainment will include a cabaret and a quiz; cheese and biscuits will be provided, but please bring your own drink. Otford Christmas Shopping Festival is next Sunday November 28 between 11am and 4pm when the lovely village shops will be open for business. There will be street entertainment to watch including Bobbo the Clown, Victorian Characters, Morris Dancers and the Primary School choir. Farther Christmas has promised to visit and there will be free mince pies distributed by Otford Methodist Church. Support your local shops which help to keep our village thriving. |

The Plaxtol Scholars, well-known for acting as a locum choir in many cathedrals, are giving a concert in St Barts Church at 7.30pm on Saturday in aid of the Church Tower Restoration Fund. Entitled 'A celebration of all things English' the programme will include sacred and secular pieces. Tickets will be available at the door priced £6, including an interval drink. |

St Bartholomew's Church is holding a Christmas Market in the church centre on Saturday November 20 between 10am and 12 noon. Stalls will include gift wrapping, cards, Christmas tree and table decorations, candles, cakes, winter woollies, sweets and chocolates and there will be a super Christmas. Coffee, tea and soft drinks together with Christmas biscuits, stolen and mince pies will be on sale. Goods to stock the stalls are urgently needed and all contributions will be gratefully received and may be left at the church office, at any church service or at Burway, Sevenoaks, Road and 34 Dartford Road, Sevenoaks. Otford Players are holding a Christmas Quiz on Saturday November 27 in the Memorial Hall at 7.30 pm for 8 o'clock to raise funds to help with future productions and the renovation of their costume and scenery storage. The quiz, organized by quiz master Phil Clucas, will have a Christmas theme. Team tables are available for a maximum of 8 persons, and tickets cost £5 each. If you cannot fill a table, don't worry, they will pair you up with others in the same situation. Take along your own drinks and nibbles. Tickets are available from Carole 01959 525404. |
