Otford Evening WI thoroughly enjoyed their 52nd birthday celebratory meal and the entertainment provided by the Tonbridge Mummers.  In May they will be electing their new President and committee and discussing this year’s Resolutions.  Ken Gunderson will then talk about his experiences as a Bevin Boy.  Members are also looking forward to their visit to the House of Commons in July and hopefully a visit to Highgrove next Spring.

Otford Lunch Club celebrate their 25th anniversary today with one member, who is in her 90th year, still attending.  She came as a cook and stayed on as a member.  At least 70 people will be attending, all the members and all those who cook for them.

Otford Players are hosting a Barn Dance/Ceilidh in the Memorial Hall on Saturday May 14. Tickets are £10 each, which includes dinner and pudding but take along your own liquid refreshments.  Tickets are on sale now from Carole 01959 525404 or email otfordplayers@otford.net.   To ensure everyone has space to dance ticket sales will be limited to 90 this year.  Don’t delay book now.

Kent Dahlia Society is holding a Plant Sale on Saturday May 8 in the Memorial Hall between 9.30 and 11.30a.m. Amongst the plants for sale will be Dahlias, bedding plants, vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs.  Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
