The Annual Assembly of electors of the Parish was held in the Memorial Hall on Monday May 23 hearing reports from Parish Councillors and a number of village organisations. Rod Shelton was warmly praised for his unstinting efforts on behalf of the village, in particular with regard to chairing the steering group that produced the Parish Plan which was unveiled on May 6. Particular concern was raised by local shopkeepers because of the dwindling footfall through their doors and a Parish Plan sub-committee will be holding discussions with them in an effort to publicise the benefits of shopping, eating and exercising in our beautiful village. The Kirsch Cup, awarded to a young person who had made a valuable contribution to a recreational activity in Otford, was presented to Billy Callway. |
