Creating the Plan itself has been funded by many sources. These include DEFRA, our Parish Council, our District Councillor, the Otford Society, Otford.Net and the Fete Committee. Add to that, the sale of a limited number of copies of the Plan. Careful accounts have been maintained throughout and the final accounts and balance sheet (which show a very small credit balance) have been officially submitted to the Parish Council and to DEFRA. These are available for public inspection should you wish.
Taking part in carrying out the aims of a Parish Plan enables our community to access a wide variety of funding sources which would not otherwise be available.
To help us find those sources of funding and to make (we hope) successful applications, we have been allotted a ‘Funding Buddy’ who is experienced in this field. She will advise individual groups as funds are required.
On a very much smaller scale there are the funds from the sale of the Plan itself, which will be held on our behalf, by the Parish Council, along with any other donations that may be made.
Different projects will require different scales and different sources of funding so there is no simple catch-all answer. We know how to gain advice and are trying to keep on the ball as funds may become available from un-expected sources which may suit our needs.
