Annual General Meeting and Cheese & Wine – 5 March
The AGM will be held on Monday 5 March from 7.30pm, followed afterwards by cheese & wine, in the Hope Room of the Village Hall. It is always good to meet members whom you might not normally see, and the committee like to see lots of people so that we get good feedback on what we are doing. Any members, please come along!

The agenda has been sent out with this newsletter, and on the website you can see the minutes of last year’s AGM along with details of some minor changes to the Club Rules that we are required to make.

Also we’re always keen for other members to join the club committee, to ensure that it remains representative. The officer posts are Chairman, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary and there are up to 7 ordinary committee members. We have about 4 or 5 meetings during the year, beyond that you can choose to do as much or as little as you like – it’s not much of an obligation. Speak to one of the current committee to find out more. Nomination forms are available on the club website www.OtfordTennis.org.uk and must be returned before 5 March or at the AGM itself.

Winter club sessions
Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday morning club sessions have been running throughout the winter whenever the weather has permitted (cold alone doesn’t put off the crazy hardy players).

These are for adult players of any standard with either Full, Student or Family membership. The Tuesday and Thursday sessions are 7.30 – 9.30pm, Sunday is 9.30 until around 11.00am. At this time of year it’s good to check that it’s going ahead as usual – drop an e-mail to IsTennisOn@OtfordTennis.org.uk if you’re thinking of coming one day, and one of the regular players will get back to you.

Membership renewal
The new 2012-2013 season starts from 1 April. To get a discount from Full or Midweek membership renew early by 31 March. A renewal form accompanies this newsletter; please complete this and include your up-to-date email address. The renewal form also includes tick-boxes to indicate whether you would like to enter the ballot for Wimbledon tickets, and whether you would like to enter the adult club tournament. More details on
these events will follow later, after which there’ll be further opportunities to put your name down.

Additional lock for the Pavilion
Shortly there will be an additional lock on the pavilion door. The existing lock will continue to be used but with the addition of another, which will be the same as the lock on the main gate. So there is no requirement for additional keys.

Also, a gentle request: we would be grateful if members would not put their membership shoe tags with their club keys, in case they get into the wrong hands. Thank you

Club teams
Men’s doubles: we have entered a men’s doubles team into the North Kent league for the summer again this year. We’re always looking for extra players so if you are interested in taking part, either on a regular basis or to make up numbers when needed, contact Julian Ward, Julian@OtfordTennis.org.uk. Most matches will be at weekends.

Junior teams: many teams are entered in all age groups each year. If you would like to get

Hooded tops – order yours
You may have seen at the club some of our junior players wearing the Otford Tennis Club hoodie. These are available for all club juniors and especially for team members to wear when representing the club in matches, or participating in tournaments, or indeed for parents too! The cost is £15 for children’s sizes and £20 for adult sizes. They can be ordered in pale blue or navy.

Otford fête – 4 June
As usual the club will have a stall at the village fête this year. We’re always keen for help manning the stall, we have several members taking turns for an hour or so on the day, it’s quite fun. Please let us know if you will be around and are happy to help out.
